Hi. I’m Allie, a writer, pastor’s wife, and mom who believes that following Christ, cultivating relationships, and pursuing dreams are the most important things anyone can do. I love learning new things, mastering new skills, and looking for ways to better myself. Books are my first love, my passion, and my escape. I love reading and writing stories, whether they come from my own life, my imagination, or other people. There are always things waiting to be discovered in books. In recent years I’ve also taken up baking, exercising, Marvel movie fandom, and occasionally leading worship in church. On my blog, I talk about all those things and share my personal growth journey, occasionally mentioning books, movies, or products I enjoy or that enhance my life. I believe anything worth doing is worth doing together with others, so I’m always on the lookout for people who want to join me and share my experiences in this crazy life. I may talk about writing, taking chances, trying new things, dealing with people, or coping with life’s obstacles, but I will always try to encourage you to think about things in a new way, or challenge you to do something you haven’t done before.
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:2 NLT
More than anything, my blog is about transformation. I have spent years of my life stuck in a cycle of progress, failure, and frustration. Recently I have become committed to moving past those things toward action and breakthroughs. Sometimes you are only as stuck as you think you are. I believe in using the power of our thoughts to inspire the actions that can move us toward becoming better people who create amazing things. I approach everything in life from my Christian, conservative American worldview, but I also believe that all belief systems contain nuggets of truth, and I don’t look down on anyone for how they believe or choose to live their lives. When I point to what I believe is a better way, I strive to do so with gentleness and respect. Every month, I will post a one month challenge, daring you try something new and see if it changes your life. These could be anything from exercise, habits, or life hacks. I have a Facebook group where we can keep each other accountable with our progress, and I always welcome feedback and suggestions on challenges to try next.
